Where are the builders?

Where are the builders?

Well, it’s been some time since my last post and that is because not much has been done.  The builders went home one afternoon and then didn’t return.  It’s safe to say that the work is not yet finished.  Could it be because they would rather not do work they have paid for?  Termination of Contract complete – adjudication proceedings await ….
On a more positive note, not having the builders around, and doing work myself has actually meant the standards of workmanship have risen immednsely.  Karen, the boys and I are doing a stirling job and we’re getting in some extra help too.  It’s self build from here on – my favourite!

Windows arrive

A big day today – the windows arrive from Denmark – all £16k.  We were concerned with lifting them to first-floor level as 4 of them were 225kg.  Fortunately, the lorry came with a big crane and the windows were hoisted into position then slid off.  Very relieved.
